The beautiful bay of Cala Bassa with its sandy shores is situated on the west coast of the island close to San Antonio. Surrounded by Sabina tree woodland and with crystal clear waters that are safe for kids, this beach is a popular choice with tourists and locals alike. For the more adventurous there is also a range of watersports on offer including jet skis and paddle boards.

WHEN TO GO

Cala Bassa get very busy in the summer months with holidaymakers. Get there early or reserve sunbeds in advance during peak season. The best times to visit are May and September when it is a little quieter and you can enjoy the beautiful bay.

WHERE TO EAT

CbBC Cala Bassa Beach Club has an array of areas each with a different cuisine. The Chiringo serves classic Mediterranean food and is open all year round, whilst the CBbC Restaurant has fusion cuisine, and the high-end Sushi Restaurant are open during the summer season from May to October. There is also a snack bar situated on the far side of the bay offering delicious food at reasonable prices.

GETTING THERE

Follow signs from either the San Antonio or San José direction and there are good parking facilities at Cala Bassa. There is also a bus or catch the water ferry from San Antonio.
