Cala Nova

Cala Nova

Cala Nova

Known as the surf spot of Ibiza, Cala Nova can provide a fun day of surfing when the weather permits. This dark sand beach is surrounded by red cliffs and green hills. While the waves may only be good enough for surfing once in a while, the shallows are perfect for those that want to play in the waves. It has been know to have a strong current at times so take care when swimming especially with children.

WHEN TO GO

Situated on the east cost of the Island Cala Nova has a breathtaking sunset. If you want to surf check the forecast first but waves are usually best in the morning.

WHERE TO EAT

A small beach hut that is popular with the locals is situated at the far right of the sand or if you prefer something less rustic opt for Aiyanna with its colourful umbrellas and delicious food.

GETTING THERE

By car following the road to San Carlos and then Cala Leña or Cala Nova can also be reached by foot or bicycle from Es Caná a few hundred metres away.
